Under NDP III, the program aims to increase mineral exploitation and value addition in selected resources to achieve quality and gainful jobs in the industry. Key results include reducing the volume and value of imported iron, steel and inorganic fertilizers; increasing the volume and value of refined gold exports and copper; increasing investment into the exploration and processing of selected minerals; and creating more jobs in the mining sub  sector.
